Was looking for a generator that would be a bit smaller/lighter than some of the 5500+ running watt generators, making it a bit more manageable to store and move around. Did a lot of research for weight, estimated decibels, running time, etc. and this one seemed to match or beat them all. Plus it has a 3-year warranty. 4500w is not enough to power an entire home, but it is enough to run one zone of central heat, lights and a few appliances (cycling some items on/off as the need arises). The generator arrived by a shipping company and they did a good job of coordinating delivery and wheeling the box into the garage. Assembly was easy and it started on the first or second pull. The unit was tested on the house with an electrician and it did fine, although has not yet had a true workout in a power outage. There were 2 small issues. The first was the gas gauge/float did not work properly- but Westinghouse tech support quickly mailed a replacement (although I think these are just to give you a general idea of the fuel level). The second is that the pull cord will rub against the frame of the cart each time it's started, which I can't imagine to be good in the long run. The owner's manual is easy to understand, control panel intuitive, and it comes with tools/oil to get it going. Although this model is now discontinued, I believe the Westinghouse WH5500 model is the most recent update. You can search the Westinghouse website and compare their generators, specs, and even download the owner's manual. I also got the cover. Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Westinghouse WH4500 5,600 Watt 292cc Gas Powered Portable Generator" are high quality item.
