I don't own this product but a close friend does and I helped him install it on his Yamaha EF4500iSE generator at our deer lease. The installation was no big hassle and the function was perfect. It was so cool to be able to start and stop his generator from inside the travel trailer--I just laughed as we played with it. The operating distance is as advertised about 50 feet. It will go out to about 75 feet unobstructed but it is intermittent over about 60 feet. I am going to get one in about a month along with a Yamaha EF6300iSDE generator. Bigger is better.
