We've all been there. We turn out a wonderful BBQ meal for family and friends and are then confronted with a gunked-up mess to clean up. This simple tool does an excellent job of cleaning the grill in a short amount of time. It is well-built, ergonomic, and easy to use.I cover the grill and let the remaining heat from the fire do the first part of the clean-up. Once the grill has cooled off I begin the clean-up. This brush isn't long enough to clean a hot grill unless you want to be a fashionista and burn all the hair off your fingers and knuckles.
Simply place the wire brush with the two sides straddling each grate one at a time. Push the brush from one end of the grate to the other and repeat if necessary. Then move on to the next grate. After cleaning the top of the grill, turn it over and repeat on the bottom. You will now have all (or almost all) of the gunk off the grill. Use a simple brush or a warm wash-cloth to remove any residue. There is no scrubbing or elbow grease involved.
Now you've got a gunked-up grill brush to clean. Simply spray it with a degreaser (ZEP Citrus Degreaser works great) and rinse it with hot water after a few minutes. That should do it. Embedded particles can easily be removed by soaking the brush in a solution of the degreaser and hot water. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PICK OUT STUCK PARTICLES WITH YOUR FINGERS. The brush head is composed of many short and sharp wires that can do a number on your fingers. JUST TO BE SAFE, wipe the grill one final time with a soft cloth in case any of the wire particles broke off and are attached to the grates.
I have used many types of grill brushes over the years but have yet to try a new-fangled one that works better than this simple tool.
