I spent more time installing this in my motorhome than it lasted once it was installed.

I bought one of these in 2008, installed it in my motorhome and spent a few days camping in the Arizona desert. The following year we didn't go camping at all, so did not use the inverter. This fall, I was getting the motorhome set up for camping and I noticed the inverter was not working correctly. It runs for about a minute and then shuts off. This happens under heavy load or no load at all. After a few phone calls to Go Power, I learned that there are no user fixes, the inverter is shot, and they offered to sell me another at 1/2 price since mine was beyond the 2 year warranty.

I declined their offer, given that the first one only had about 10 hours of use on it, and there was no reason to think that another unit wouldn't do the same thing. I figure this one cost me about $75 per hour to operate, so even at half price, it isn't a deal.

Please make sure you educate yourself before purchasing the solarroll. My problem was that I didn't realize I would have to buy a car charger for all of my peripherals that I wanted to plug in. Panel was received and appears to be as promised. My biggest concern is lifespan/warranty. Is it worth saving $60 (delivered price)with an unknown warranty, or better to spend the extra money on a good Kyocera panel with a 20 year warranty? Stay tuned - updates will follow in 6 months or if the panel fails.

Update - Instapark raised their price since my purchase, and the price on Kyocera panels has come down. Considering there is no warranty information provided from Instapark (supposedly there is a two year warranty - but how do you return and how comprehensive is it?), and the lack of history of the company, I cannot recommend this product. This is true especially since you can buy a known brand, made in the US, with an extensive warranty and good service record for almost the same price.

The product itself appears to be operating just fine so far, but where is the support if you need it?

Update after 6 mos: The unit performed well over the summer. No signs of damage from the salt water. So I upgraded my rating to 4 stars. However, doing it over again - I still would by a Kyocera panel for the piece of mind that a good warranty would give me and to buy a comparably priced American product.

Extreme Max EXT3000 Electric Start Inverter Generator Review

I took a chance and purchased this unit even though no one had written a review. I was impressed by the 59 db rating as I'll be using this unit on my boat and I wanted something quite. The fist thing I noticed when I received the unit was it doesn't come with wheels as shown in the picture. I double checked the description of my unit and it doesn't say it comes with wheels so my bad for that. I do feel they should change the picture to reflect what you get. Now here is what I think is really misleading. Decription clearly states 59db rating but when I read the owners manual it indicates 59db @ 4 meters (12 ft). I looked at quite a few other manufactures and a lot of them indicate the Decibel rating at a distance but not the extreme max. I was about to pack the unit up and send it back based soley for that reason but my wife convenced me to give it a try and said I could sell it on Craigslist at a loss if I didn't like it. My only other choices for a decent quite unit was the Honda 3000 Handi which sells for $2,000.00 used on Craigslist so that's a big difference.

I filled the unit with gas and oil, prime the unit and it fired right up. I have a phone app that gives decibel ratings and I'm getting about 65 db at 12 feet but it's a deeper sound than your typical generator so I think I can live with sound. I plugged in a few items in to check everything an it seems to be working correctly. I given it a three start rating for the two reasons above but would rated it better had they been more honest.

This inverter can pull so much energy and time out of a battery relative to a lot of other inverters including pure sine inverters. And it does it extremely quietly as well. I also have an off-grid solar system and use this inverter to power my entire entertainment center, (TV, 7.1 receiver and powered sub, cable box, PS3, modem, etc...) and this thing doesn't make a peep. For being a 1500W inverter, you would think the fans would be a bit overpowering, but nope. You hear nothing.
