This unit is a sturdy, well designed unit with good documentation. I use it in my travel trailer with a 43 watt panel to charge both a sealed (Optima) battery and a flooded (Interstate) battery. Normally, that selection would be made with a shunt that is provided, but I have set it up with a switch instead of the shunt, so I can change from the flooded mode (14.4V) to the sealed mode (14.1V), depending on which of my two batteries I'm charging. LVD (low voltage disconnect) is not required in this application. I've been using this controller for about 2 years and have been very pleased.
